Reeds II

We have a couple of beautiful bird reserves nearby and I love to walk around them when the sun is low in the sky. They both have extensive reed beds and the light at dawn and dusk is just incredible. I’m exploring that with what will be a short series of drawings – probably just four pictures although I’m not completely sure just yet.

This drawing is on A4 Bristol board. The smoothness of Bristol board helps me get crisp lines and translucency and suits the effect I’m trying to get.

You can see the first reeds picture here.

Another winner, Ian! I can almost feel the stiff breeze coming from the left.

Thanks Debi. I know what I’m doing for the remaining two pictures in this series but I think I need to draw something different first!
