Pencil drawing, Lodmoor Morning

Lodmoor Morning

10 April 2021 By ian

We have two RSPB nature reserves here in Weymouth. One, Radipole, is right in the heart of the town with the River Wey running through it. The other, Lodmoor, is at one edge, separating Preston and Melcome Regis and consisting of wetlands and reed beds.

This is a lovely place at any time of day, any time of year, but I find it especially beautiful early in the morning when the sun is low in the sky, just above the sea, and shining through the trees and the reeds. I wanted to capture that light in pencil, something that I haven’t seen done very often. This picture is the result and it’s on special offer this week.

It’s A4 and unframed. However, if you live in Dorset then I can deliver it to you framed for an additional £15, just get in touch!
