The weather is just beginning to hint at warmer days to come here on the Dorset coast. Spring is in the air.
I’ve had a busy start to the year with lots of lovely family things going on, plus a trip to Rome at the end of February. I love Rome! We also got to watch Italy play France in the Six Nations at the Stadio Olimpico as well as spend an afternoon in a bar watching England-Scotland with a group of French rugby fans who kept telling everyone we were Scottish.

On the art side of things, March saw the annual Society of Graphic Fine Art Open exhibition at Mall Galleries. It’s always one of the highlights of my year. The exhibition is always fantastic, full of great work and well curated. I had two pictures included this year, Trastevere (appropriately enough) and Julia.

I completed a couple of drawings, a large seascape and a smaller portrait of the gorgeous Maple. Maple is currently in the online exhibition of the Association of Animal Artists. Maple is my step-son’s dog and she’s stolen my heart.
