Society of Graphic Fine Art

I’m excited and proud to have been made an associate member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art. This is how the Society describes itself:

Founded in 1919, the Society of Graphic Fine Art exists to promote and exhibit original works of high quality in colour or black and white, with the emphasis on excellence in drawing and draughtsmanship, demonstrated by hand. This includes all media, pencil, pen, brush, painting, charcoal, conté and any of the forms of original printmaking.

The Society is the only national society based in the UK dedicated exclusively to drawing.

Pretty much a perfect fit for me.

To be elected an associate member you have to have had work selected for at least two annual open exhibitions. You are then invited to submit a portfolio and examples of sketchbook work for a committee to consider.

The membership is diverse and very talented and I’m very honoured to be included among them.
