Portland Bill Lighthouse

This is a drawing from a while ago of one of the Jurassic Coast’s better known landmarks, Portland Bill lighthouse.

There has been a lighthouse here since the 18th century but this one was built in 1906. It was automated in 1996 and is now operated from somewhere in Essex.

I used Bristol Board for this drawing to help get the effect of the smooth tower. The pencils were my usual Mitsubishi Hi-unis.

The original drawing is available on Art Gallery SW and prints and cards are available on Etsy – or you can contact me directly.
