Your friday picture is well done. Was it done on site, from memory, from photograph or some other method?
Thanks Shirley. I did it from a photo I took. The photo actually has several boats in it and I’ve got another picture of a boat taken from it set to go up next Friday, drawn with a Palomino Blackwing 602, and a third the week after, drawn with a Palomino Blackwing Pearl. You may spot a pattern here… I’m following up each drawing with a review of the pencil used on the corresponding Sunday.
Thanks Ian, I have never been happy sketching with a pencil. I am such a poor artist I guess I’m afraid I’ll get something good and I can’t replicate it. So usually my sketches are with fountain pen. I’ve kind of given sketching second seat to sterling silver jewelry making. Whatever makes us happy eh? Keep up your blog it has it’s own character and has a good variety. As alwys yr fthfl srvnt brthr Shirl.
Thanks Shirley. Jewellery making sounds very interesting! What I like about sketching with pen is you can’t go back. You have to commit yourself to every line. Whenever I’m almost at the end of a pen drawing I get so nervous because I’m certain that my next line will ruin the whole picture!
Same when I am making apiece of jewelry.
