The Old Family Home (sketch)

As I mentioned three weeks ago, my parents recently moved from the house they’d lived in for forty years, where my brother and I grew up, and where two of my grandparents lived in the later years too. For a little while there were four generations living here. It’s a home that saw lots of happiness, some occasional sadness, and quite a lot of good eating and drinking.

This is a little painting I did for my parents.

Very nice, Ian. Clearly you used a Visconti to draw it but what did you use for the colours?

I used my beloved Platinum Sai with a fine nib and a Franklin-Christoph M03 with a needlepoint nib for the ink work, using Platinum Carbon Black ink, and Winsor Newton watercolours for the colour.

Could have sworn it was a Visconti! Anyway, nice picture.
