Many thanks to Spotlight Stationery for once again sponsoring Pens! Paper! Pencils! this month. Spotlight Stationery are a UK-based company that will send you a subscription box every month (or every two months if you prefer). With every box they make a donation to National Star, a charity working with young people with disabilities and acquired brain injuries, and they also go out of their way to promote young illustrators by including a selection of postcards featuring their work.
This month’s theme was “Going Green” and, except for the usual four wonderful postcards illustrated by young artists, all the items were both recycleable and made from recycled materials.
It consisted of: a Van Moose notebook, made from recycled paper and inside a felt cover that used to be, somehow, a plastic bottle; Exotic Paper Company pencils (made from newspapers) and gift tags (made from recycled cotton); Paper Mate Biodegradable Gel Pen; Buntbox self-assembly box made from recycled paper; and Stabilo highlighter made from recycled plastics. What’s more, the Exotic Paper Company gift tags contain wildflower seeds and so can be planted after use!
I think it’s safe to say I’ve tried out a lot of different stationery products yet every single one of these items was new to me. This is exactly what I want from a subscription box: an interesting theme and something new.
If this has whetted your appetite then head over now and use the special code PPP15 to get 15% off your first box.
